Mr SHEEHAN (COOK, NEW SOUTH WALES) - In view of the fact that it is not now intended to commence the operation of the national insurance scheme on the 1st January next, is it intended to lay on the table of the House the regulations made pursuant to the National Health and Pensions Insurance Act before the recess?

Mr CASEY - I am unable to say whether the regulations will be ready by the time the House rises for the Christmas recess. If they are, they will certainly be laid on the table without delay.
