Mr THORBY - The Government of New South Wales has made representations to the Commonwealth Government suggesting that certain works would be of value to the Commonwealth in the event of an emergency, and it has -asked that I should confer with representatives of the Government, and with State officers, with a view to working out a scheme for co-operation between the State and Commonwealth authorities in the prosecution of those works.
