Mr Nairn n asked the Prime Minister, upon notice -

1.   Will he give the House a statement of the Government's proposals for the housing of His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent during his sojourn in Australia? 2.W ill the Government seek the approval of Parliament before incurring large commitmentson vice-regal establishments?

Mr Lyons - The answers to the honorable member's questions are as follows : -

1.   Consideration has not yet been given to this matter.

2.   As the honorable member is aware, any expenditure in this connexion must 'be submitted for the approval of Parliament.
