Mr HAWKER - Has the Prime Minister given any consideration to the reports that have appeared in the press from time to time regarding the production of an artificial wool fibre in Germany and the exploitation of it by German manufacturers as a substitute for Australian wool? If so, has he taken any steps to obtain from the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, or some other competent authority, a report on the actual quality of the fibre, and the prospects of it successfully competing with Australian wool?
