Mr FORDE (CAPRICORNIA, QUEENSLAND) asked the Minister for the Interior, upon notice -

1.   With reference to the question by the honorable member for Capricornia on the 28th April, regarding an expedition into Central Australia, will the Minister ascertain from Mr. (Harrington, Deputy Administrator and Chief of Police at Alice Springs, and from Dr. Browne, Deputy Chief Protector of Aborigines in the administrative area in question, whether they have any knowledge of the proposed expedition, and if so, if such expedition has already started?

2.   What action, if any, does his department take to safeguard the interests of the native aboriginals in the event of such an expedition being undertaken into territory usually occupied by natives only?
