Mr BERNARD CORSER (WIDE BAY, QUEENSLAND) - Has the Prime Minister any comment to make on the reply given the other day by the Premier of New South Wales in answer to a question relating to family endowment payments in that State? Mr. Lang is reported to have stated that the Government of New South Wales had "£60,000 to pay the endowment to the mothers in New South Wales . Cheques were issued against that amount, but the Commonwealth Government comman deered the money. The Government was not going to pay more money in for the Commonwealth to seize. When a scheme could be devised to get the money safely into the hands of the mothers it would be paid."
