Mr PROWSE (Forrest) .- I support the motion, because dread diseases need drastic remedies. The Government is taking the proper course. The honorable member for Hunter (Mr. James) has said that the action of the Government is likely to interfere with the festivities in connexion with the opening of the Sydney Harbour bridge, but this is a time not for festivities but for sackcloth and ashes, particularly so far as New South Wales is concerned. Any honorable member can readily read the resolution within the time at our disposal. I honour the Government for taking this drastic action, because it is in the interests of New South Wales as well as of the other States of the Commonwealth.
