Mr LYONS - On the 24th February, the honorable member for Boothby (Mr. Price) asked the following questions, upon, notice: -

1.   What is the present retail price of petrol at bowsers in each of the capital cities of the Commonwealth ?

2.   Is the Government satisfied that the price which the various oil companies are extracting from the petrol-consuming public is a fair one?

I am now in a position to furnish the following replies : -

1.   A statement is appended setting out information which has been obtained by the Department of Trade and Customs from the collector of customs in each State.

2.   Pending the consideration by the Government of the question of petrol prices, I am not in a position to make any statement in relation thereto.
