Mr LYONS - I had in mind the intention of the Government to exercise every possible economy in governmental expenditure in order to make available sums of money for work for the unemployed. If, after investigation by the Commonwealth and State Governments, definite proposals are made with the object of providing employment, it would be easier for us to obtain the necessary finance to carry them out, either by government or private enterprise if the credit of the country were improved.
