Mr PATERSON (GIPPSLAND, VICTORIA) - The Premier of New South Wales claims that his State is unable to pay the amount of interest which the Commonwealth paid on behalf of the State to overseas bondholders. I ask the Treasurer how that statement can be reconciled with the fact that the people of New South Wales paid £1,400,000 into the State Government lotteries during the last twelve months?
