Mr LYONS - No proposal is before the Government for the reduction of salaries and wages; but consideration is being given to possible economies in other directions. If the time unhappily comes when we shall be compelled to consider further reductions in salaries and wages, we shall certainly begin with the allowances of Ministers and members of Parliament.
