Mr MARR (PARKES, NEW SOUTH WALES) (Minister for Health) - The eradication of cattle tick has for some time been receiving the earnest consideration of the Government. We have provided up to £55,000 per annum to help the Government of New South Wales to eradicate the pest, but that sum was reduced last year by £10,000. It is costing the Health Department a considerable sum of money to carry out this work. The Government has not yet decided whether the subsidy will he continued, reduced, or abolished altogether.
