Mr MARR (PARKES, NEW SOUTH WALES) (Minister for Health) - The answers to the honorable member's questions are as follow : -

1.   The proposal to erect a Commonwealth building on land adjoining Anzac-square, Brisbane, formed part of a general scheme which had been the subject of negotiation between the Governments of the Commonwealth and the State of Queensland and the Brisbane City Council. . The two Governments concerned agreed that any buildings erected by them on their respective properties adjoining Anzacsquare would be uniform in character, harmonious in design, and of such a nature as to give dignity to the National Memorial.

2.   The Commonwealth land referred to is " transferred property ". The proposal to erect a Commonwealth building thereon was not proceeded with owing to the financial position. When funds can be made available for the purpose, consideration will again be given to the project.
