Mr SCULLIN (Yarra) .- I second the motion. It was not my privilege to know the late Mr. John Earle personally, although I met him on one occasion in the Federal Parliament when I was not a member of it. He carried out his duties capably and ably. He applied himself to work in an energetic and thoughtful manner. He passed out of public life some years ago, and now he has passed out of life altogether. I join with the Prime Minister, and with other honorable members in conveying to the widow of the late Mr. Earle our deepest sympathy in her bereavement.
