Mr COLEMAN (REID, NEW SOUTH WALES) -I ask the Prime Minister, in the absence of the Treasurer, whether it is a fact that certain maternity hospitals are collecting the maternity allowance due to patients who are on the dole? Is it possible to take action to prevent this practice, which reacts unfairly on women who are in destitute circumstances and require the allowance for the purchase of clothing for their newborn infants?
