Mr WHITE asked the PostmasterGeneral, upon notice -

1.   Do the conditions of tendering of the Commonwealth Tender Board provide for preference as follows: - (a) To returned soldiers and sailors with satisfactory records and service; (b) financial members of trade unions: if so, from what date was this change made?

2.   Why was paragraph (a) of the previous paragraph not mentioned in the Minister's reply to the question by the honorable member for Balaclava of the 21st October, and why is it not stated in clause 14 of the conditions of tendering for the department?

3.   Will the Minister have paragraph (a) inserted in the clause?
