Mr PRICE (BOOTHBY, SOUTH AUSTRALIA) asked the Minister for Trade and Customs, upon notice -

1.   Is it a fact that the continuation of primage duty and sales tax on books is detrimental to education, and that it will further restrict necessary importations of literature?

2.   Is it a fact that the purchasing power of educational institutions will be seriously reduced' by these charges ?

3.   If the facts are as stated, will he have inquiry made into the matter with a view to amending legislation?
