Mr MAKIN (HINDMARSH, SOUTH AUSTRALIA) asked the Prime Minister, upon notice -

1.   Why el id the Commonwealth Shipping Hoard decide to withdraw from the JavaSingapore trade?

2.   What is the nature of the agreement entered into between Ellerman and Bucknall Steamship Company and the Commonwealth Shipping Board?

3.   Why was it necessary to enter into an agreement?

4.   Is it true that the ships of the Ellerman and Bucknall Steamship Company taking the place of the Commonwealth steamers arc manned by black crews?

5.   Why is it necessary to offer for sale the /'mila.Euralia, and Enoggera?
