Mr SCULLIN (Yarra) .When making the adjustment under the Bill some men will be retained in the Commonwealth Service and others will be transferred to the State Service. The former have the right, within twelve months, to voluntarily retire with the consent of the Treasurer, and to obtain compensation. The same right should be given to the man who is transferred to the State against his will.

Mr.- Groom.- He would be a State servant.

Mr SCULLIN - Both men should be placed on the same footing. Surely it ls a reasonable request.
