Mr GROOM (Darling Downs) (Minis ter for Works and Railways) . - I move -

That in the blank after the word "be" the words " two thousand " be inserted ; and that after the word "year-" the words "and the Consolidated Revenue Fund is, to the necessary, extent, hereby appropriated accordingly."

The appropriation is placed in the Bill so as to give the same security in the case of the salary of the Arbitrator as is given usually in the case of the salaries of Judges.


Mr Tudor - What are the High Court Judges paid ?


Mr GROOM - The Chief Justice is paid £3,500, and the other Justices £3,000.

Clause 11 -

(1)   Notwithstanding anything contained in tlie Arbitration (Public Service) Act 1911, an organization of employees in the Public Service shall not be entitled to submit to the Court under that Act any claim relating to the salaries, wages, rates of pay, or terms or conditions of service or employment of members of the organization.
