Mr BRUCE (FLINDERS, VICTORIA) - Has the attention of the Prime Minister been drawn to a statement made by the Minister for Customs when dealing with the question of the calculation of the basis of foreign exchange, that it was proposed to do nothing in the matter until a case, which I understand has been commenced before the Courts, had been settled? I would like to know whether that statement was the considered judgment of Cabinet, and if the matter has not yet been considered by Cabinet I would ask that it should be, particularly in view of the fact that the legal action referred to may be taken by appeal to the Privy Council, thus permitting the whole question, which does not deal with the past, but relates to the future, to be held up for an indefinite period.
