Mr HUGHES (BENDIGO, VICTORIA) (Prime Minister) - The policy of the Government in regard to Canberra was stated prior to the last elections, when Ministers declared that they were in favour of pushing on the construction of the Federal Capital, subject to those obvious financial limitations which affect all enterprises at the present time. A substantial sum will be placed on the Estimates, and when these come before honorable members they will have an opportunity to express their opinions concerning the adequacy of the amount, and how it should be expended.
