Mr HUGHES - The answers to the honorable member's questions are as follow : - 1.There are no such persons other than nationals of enemy or lateenemy countries who were interned during the war.

2.   It is not proposed to make public such particulars in regard to the cases mentioned.


Mr BRENNAN asked the Minister representing the Minister for Defence, upon notice -

What is the clause and page in the Peace Treaty to which the Minister referred in the Senate on the 21st July instant, on the subject of deportations, when he said, " The Peace Treaty provides for such deportations "?
