Mr RICHARD FOSTER (Wakefield) . - I am entirely in accord with what the honorable member for Hunter (Mr. Charlton) has said regarding private members' day, but, while I support the motion, I would ask the Government to give earnest consideration to the question of meeting on an extra day. On top of a lot of business of the greatest importance, and the utmost urgency, we have yet to deal with the Tariff. The people want to know what the Tariff will be. We ought not to consider our own interests at a time like this, but should consider the interests of the people of the country, and settle the Tariff as speedily as possible. I hope that the Government will make up their minds, at all events, the week after next, to ask the House to meet on an extra day.
