Mr RYAN (West Sydney) .- I entered the chamber only a few moments ago, hoping to hear the honorable member for Grampians (Mr. Jowett) continue the remarks which he was making when the sitting was suspended. I understand, however, that because he was two or three minutes late we are to be prevented from hearing what I anticipate would have been a very effective reply to some of the criticisms which have been levelled against his amendment. I think that the Committee is willing to hear the honorable member, and I suggest that he be given permission to continue his remarks.
