Mr Tudor - Mr. Deputy Speaker--

Mr DEPUTY SPEAKER (Hon J M Chanter - There can be no debate.

Mr Tudor - The resolution that the question be put applied only to the amendment.

Mr DEPUTY SPEAKER - I rule that it involves all questions before the Chair.

Mr PARKER MOLONEY (HUME, NEW SOUTH WALES) - This is a case of the Deputy Speaker applying the "gag "on his own.

Mr DEPUTY SPEAKER - I call upon the honorable member for Hume to withdraw that expression, and to apologize to the House for having made it.

Mr PARKER MOLONEY (HUME, NEW SOUTH WALES) - What was the expression ?

Mr DEPUTY SPEAKER - I distinctly heard the honorable member say that the Speaker was applying the " gag " on his own. I call upon the honorablemember to withdraw and apologize for his insult to the Chair.

Mr PARKER MOLONEY (HUME, NEW SOUTH WALES) - Are you sure it was I who made the remark?

Mr DEPUTY SPEAKER - I distinctly heard the honorable member.

Mr PARKER MOLONEY (HUME, NEW SOUTH WALES) - If I made the remark, I withdraw it.

Mr DEPUTY SPEAKER - The honorable member did make it. I call upon him to withdraw.

Mr PARKER MOLONEY (HUME, NEW SOUTH WALES) - If I made it, I withdraw.

Mr DEPUTY SPEAKER - I ask the honorable member to withdraw it unconditionally, and apologize to the House.

Mr PARKER MOLONEY (HUME, NEW SOUTH WALES) - I have said it three times. I withdraw it.

Mr DEPUTY SPEAKER - The honorable member said it conditionally.

Mr Tudor - The Government will put us all out, like they tried to put me out on one occasion, when you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, said I had spoken already, although as a matter of fact, I had not.

Mr DEPUTY SPEAKER - I certainly look to the Leader of the Opposition to support the Chair in maintaining order. I do not expect him to attempt to create more disorder when disorder has already occurred.

Mr Tudor - I will assist; but what I said was perfectly true.
