Mr TUDOR (Yarra) .- It is true that protests were raised by myself and other honorable members on this side, in view of the fact that although our party is now more largely represented here than previously, our representation on this Committee was not so large as formerly; and the result is that this Bill seeks to rectify the anomaly. However that may be, I cannot conceive of a position arising, in the case of the Public Accounts Committee, when the casting vote -of the chairman is likely to be exercised.

Mr Gregory - It has occurred in the case of the Public Works Committee, and I think a casting vote is necessary.

Mr TUDOR - It may be necessary, and I ask the honorable member for East Sydney (Mr. West) not to press his amendment at the present time, in view of the fact that the Government have met us so fairly.
