Mr WILKS (Dalley) .- I donot wish to oppose the second reading of the Bill ; but before we consent to the appropriation of £479,000, we ought to have some information as to whether the Government intend at an early stage to erect an ammunition factory, in order to supply many of the items here mentioned. In the interests of the country, it is about time we had such a factory. I should not have risen but for the fact that the VicePresident of the Executive Council omitted to reply to. my question when we were in Committee.
