Mr GROOM (Darling Downs) (Minister of Home Affairs) . - The Crown Solicitor expressed the opinion that officers occupying public buildings were liable for the payment of the water rates levied in connexion with them, and a notification to that effect was made. The matter was, however, again referred to the Public Service Commissioner, who, after looking into the matter, and considering the position in which public servants were placed, recommended that the demand for payment should, be withdrawn. The officers have, therefore, been relieved of any obligation in the matter.
