Mr McWILLIAMS (Franklin) .- I think that I thoroughly understand the explanation of the Minister. It seems that the amount which is to be paid for the land is already the subject of a judicial inquiry. That being so, if the Minister were to say how much the Government expected to give for the land he might prejudice their case.

Mr Kelly - Surely that remark does not apply to the forts themselves?

Mr McWILLIAMS - I regard the explanation of the Minister as entirely satisfactory,, and I hope that the honorable member for Lang will withdraw his motion.
