Mr JOHNSON (Lang) .- If this Bill be carried in its present form, there is nothing, to prevent effect being given to the desire of the honorable and learned member for Corio, by mEans of regulation.

Mr McCay - The present regulations enable il to be done, though they do not direct that it shall be done.

Mr JOHNSON - The Bill is intended to prohibit the sale of intoxicating liquors in military canteens, and I think it would be unwise to load it with provisions of the character suggested.

Bill reported with amendments.

Motion (by Mr. Johnson) agreed to -

That the Standing Orders be suspended to allow the Bill to be passed through its remaining stages this day.

Report adopted.
