Mr BROWN (CANOBOLAS, NEW SOUTH WALES) asked the PostmasterGeneral, upon notice -

1.   Is it a fact that certain offices in the city and suburbs of Sydney are open for the transaction of business from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ?

2.   Is it a fact that the work of certain other offices requires the presence of postmasters at 7 a.m., and these offices do not close until 8 p.m., involving in some instances work to the extent of about fourteen hours per diem?

3.   What periods are allowed for meals?

4.   What are the regulations, if any, govern ing the working hours of postmasters, and will the Minister see that reasonable working hours are observed?
