Mr JOSEPH COOK (PARRAMATTA, NEW SOUTH WALES) -33j- - The honorable member for Gwydir has made some references of a grossly insulting character - of an odious character, so far as I am concerned.

Mr Webster - What ?

Mr JOSEPH COOK (PARRAMATTA, NEW SOUTH WALES) - The honorable member did so, in making references to Mr. Close, of New South Wales, and applying them to circumstances like these. The honorable member must have a mind which thinks upon an extremely low level, when he will drag in a reference of that kind here.

Mr Webster - lt is only the system adopted' That I referred to.

Mr JOSEPH COOK (PARRAMATTA, NEW SOUTH WALES) - The honorable member ought to be a good judge of what is right and proper, as I have no doubt he is. Allow me to say, Mr. Speaker, that I deny altogether the statement which the honorable member has made to-night.

Mr Webster - It is true.

Mr JOSEPH COOK (PARRAMATTA, NEW SOUTH WALES) - It is not true in any particular.
