Clause 17 -

(2)   Where the first publication of a book, the first performance in public of a musical or dramatic work, or the first delivery in public of a lecture takes place after the death of the author, the copyright, performing right, or lecturing right, as the case may be, shall subsist for the term of forty-two years or for the author's life and seven years, whichever shall last the longer, after the end of the year in which such first publication, performance, or delivery took place, and no longer.

Amendment (by Mr. Groom) proposed -

That after the word " years," line 7, the following words be left out : - " or for the author's life and seven years, whichever shall last the longer, after the end of the year in which such first publication, performance, or delivery took place, and no longer."
