Sir WILLIAM LYNE (Hume) (Minister of Trade and Customs) . - I think the honorable member for Angas, is mistaken. I took special care to put the point he has raised to the draftsman, and he assured me that the word " person " was the right one to use.


Mr Glynn - If the Minister is satisfied, I am.


Sir WILLIAM LYNE - If it turns out, on further inquiry, that the honorable member's view is right, I shall have an alteration made.

Clause, as amended, agreed to.

Clause 6 -

The rates of bounty payable under this Act shall be as follows : -

(a)   In the case of sugar-cane - six shillings per ton calculated on cane giving ten per centum of sugar, to be increased or decreased proportionately according to any variation from this standard; and

(b)   In the case of beet - sixty shillings per ton on the sugar-giving contents of the beet.
