Mr CONROY (Werriwa) - The Minister has utterly misconceived the situation. We have no right to, hand over to one body of citizens the money belonging to another section of the community. The payment of the bounty upon white-grown sugar has resulted in increasing the value of the land used for sugar-growing in the northern part of New South Wales and the southern part of Queensland; and in view of the fact that the amendment would have the effect of saving £90,000 a year to the Commonwealth Treasury, I shall vote for it.
