Mr WILSON (Corangamite) - I am amazed that the Government should attempt to bring forward a proposal of this kind at this stage of the session.

Mr Watson - Why? It proposes to make only a slight alteration in existing legislation.

Mr WILSON - There is a time for discussing such questions, and that time is not now. The Electoral Bill will give rise to a prolonged debate, and it is nothing but sheer brutality on the part of the Prime Minister to force a proposal for the amendment of the Tariff upon our attention at this stage.
