Electorate

Description: outer metropolitan.

Location: south-western Brisbane; it includes the suburbs of Bellbowrie, Brookfield, the western 'Centenary' suburbs, Chapel Hill, Indooroopilly, Karana Downs, Kenmore, St Lucia, Taringa and parts of Auchenflower, Bardon, Lake Manchester, The Gap and Toowong.

Area: 415 sq km (approx.).

Electors enrolled: 90 563 (at 24.11.07).

Industries: retail and service industries, some light industry and farming. It also includes the University of Queensland and a large portion of Brisbane Forest Park.

State electorates: Ryan includes parts of the Queensland Legislative Assembly electorates of Ashgrove, Indooroopilly, Moggill, Mount Coot-tha and Mount Ommaney.
