Israel passes controversial settlement law -

Israel has passed a controversial bill retroactively legalising thousands of settler homes built on privately-owned Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank.

The legislation has been condemned, not only by Palestinians, but also by Israel's Attorney-General, who has said the legislation is unconstitutional.
