Drugs and boredom likely causes of violence inside Perth's Banksia Hill Detention Centre, detainee says -

There are frequent reports of violence breaking out in juvenile detention centres around the country.

On the weekend three boys climbed onto the roof of Perth's Banksia Hill detention centre and pelted those below with rocks.

So what's causing the unrest?

Our reporter Eliza Borrello has been granted extensive access to Banksia Hill and spoken to authorities who say they're dealing with children increasingly affected by methamphetamine.
