Cop killers to lose parole under fast-tracked legislation -

The Victorian Government will today introduce legislation into Parliament that would ensure people who kill police officers are never released on parole.

The measures directly target Craig Minogue, one of three men who carried out Melbourne's Russell Street bombings in 1986.

But one expert says Minogue has become a "sacrificial lamb" as the Andrews Government tries to convince Victorians it's tough on crime ahead of the next state election in 2018.
