Landmark deal to create world's largest marine reserve -

A total of 52 countries have reached a pioneering agreement to establish the world's largest marine reserve in Antarctic waters.

The agreement brings together the 28 members of the European Union with 24 other countries including Australia

The new reserve covers 1.55 million square kilometres - that's the size of France, Germany and Spain combined.

Delegrates meeting in Hobart struck the deal this morning, after years of diplomatic wrangling.
