Assange to challenge Swedish authorities -

View in ParlViewView other Segments

TONY JONES, PRESENTER: There appears to be movement in the case of Julian Assange tonight, with his lawyers planning to mount a legal challenge against Swedish authorities.

Tomorrow the WikiLeaks founder will mark two years since he sought political asylum in the Ecuadorian embassy in London.

In 2012 he lost an appeal against being extradited to Sweden to face questioning over sexual assault allegations.

Tonight his lawyers say they have new information and will be filing a challenge in a Stockholm court.

Julian Assange is due to hold a media conference in London shortly.
