LEIGH SALES: Turkish military sources have told the Reuters news agency that they've used planes
and ground troops to attack Kurdish rebel positions inside northern Iraq during the last three
days.

Thousands of protesters took to streets in Turkey calling for even more intervention. They're
demanding that the Government use its parliamentary authority for military action in Iraq to crush
PKK Kurdish separatists.

Adding to the pressure on the Government is this video, aired on pro-Kurdish satellite television
and said to be of Kurdish troops that the rebels have captured.

But the general public in Turkey may not have seen the pictures, with the Government imposing a
media blackout on coverage of the border tensions in the interests of national security.
