President Putin in Indonesia ahead of APEC visit

The presidents of Russia and Indonesia have witnessed the signing of a $1.2 billion deal enabling
Indonesia to buy Russian military hardware.

LEIGH SALES: The Russian President Vladimir Putin has been doing business in Jakarta on his way to
APEC.

He met President Yudhoyono before signing a $1.2 billion deal to sell Russian military hardware to
the Indonesians.

The deal includes helicopters, tanks and two conventionally-powered submarines with up to another
eight possibly to come.

When President Putin arrives in Sydney tomorrow he'll have Australian uranium on his shopping list.
