The ABC will no longer build its new Brisbane headquarters in Newstead after discovering the site
is contaminated. Extensive testing has revealed elevated levels of radioactive material in the soil

The network's Managing Director, Mark Scott, today announced that the ABC has terminated the
contract of sale and has taken the matter to the Supreme Court.

Staff were forced out of the ABC's Toowong offices in December 2006 after the confirmation of a
breast cancer cluster.
