Transcript

HEATHER EWART, PRESENTER: Here's John Clarke, Bryan Dawe and a question of time.

BRYAN DAWE: Joe Hockey, thanks for your time.

JOHN CLARKE: Very good to be with you as always, Bryan. Good evening.

BRYAN DAWE: And Wayne Swan, thankyou for your time.

JOHN CLARKE: Well, similarly, Bryan, always a pleasure to be with you and good evening.

BRYAN DAWE: Joe Hockey, thanks for your time.

JOHN CLARKE: Yes, very good to be here, Bryan. Good evening.

BRYAN DAWE: And Wayne Swan, thankyou for your time tonight.

JOHN CLARKE: Well, and again, Bryan, it is still very good to be with you.

BRYAN DAWE: Joe Hockey, thanks for your time.

JOHN CLARKE: No, Bryan, you've actually done this.

BRYAN DAWE: Wayne Swan, thankyou for your time tonight.

JOHN CLARKE: Joe's right, Bryan: you've actually done these intros before.

BRYAN DAWE: Joe Hockey, thanks for your time.

JOHN CLARKE: Bryan, you're beginning to repeat yourself. You've done this a couple'a times.

BRYAN DAWE: Wayne Swan, thanks for your time tonight.

JOHN CLARKE: Joe's right: Bryan, you are going round and round in circles.

BRYAN DAWE: Joe Hockey, thanks for your time.

JOHN CLARKE: Bryan, this is not working. You're beginning to repeat yourself.

BRYAN DAWE: Wayne Swan, thanks for your time tonight.

JOHN CLARKE: Bryan, this isn't working. You got me in here to talk about carbon.

BRYAN DAWE: Joe Hockey, thanks for your time tonight.

JOHN CLARKE: No, look, Bryan, this is not working. You're going round and round - he is; he's going
round and round in circles.

BRYAN DAWE: Wayne Swan, thanks for your time tonight.

JOHN CLARKE: Bryan, this is not about a carbon price. I want to talk about ...

BRYAN DAWE: Joe Hockey, thanks for your time tonight.

JOHN CLARKE: No, look, Bryan, move on. Let's discuss the issues. That's what we're here for.

BRYAN DAWE: Wayne Swan, thankyou for your time tonight. Joe Hockey, thanks for your time tonight.

JOHN CLARKE: Bryan, a lotta people in this country don't even know what a carbon price is,
including Joe and me.

JOHN CLARKE: Yeah, let's get a man in.

JOHN CLARKE: Yeah.

BRYAN DAWE: Joe Hockey, thanks for your time tonight.

JOHN CLARKE: Bryan, this is not working. You're going round and round and round in circles. You're
simply saying the same thing.

BRYAN DAWE: Wayne Swan, thanks for your time tonight.

JOHN CLARKE: I don't know what's going on here, Bryan, but people are not gonna get value for money
out of this interview if you're gonna keep doing this.

BRYAN DAWE: Thankyou both for coming in tonight.

JOHN CLARKE: Bryan, this is absolutely ridiculous. This is absolutely ridiculous. It's not working.
You're being paid a lotta money to come in here.

BRYAN DAWE: No, I'm not.

JOHN CLARKE: Well, no, OK, you're not. But we are and we've come in here to discuss an issue, not
to go round and round in circles and we cannot present the issue, which is what we're gonna do
about this issue in Australia because of your frankly rather embarrassing performance.

BRYAN DAWE: Well, thankyou both for coming in tonight.

JOHN CLARKE: Thankyou. I mean, God, I expected better from Bryan. I'm a bit disappointed.

JOHN CLARKE: Yeah, me too. Completely childish, I thought.

HEATHER EWART: And thanks for your time tonight.
