EMMA ALBERICI, PRESENTER: Security guards confronted hundreds of workers at Toyota's Altona Plant
in Melbourne today to escort them off the site so they could be made redundant.

The job losses were flagged in January and manufacturing unions say most of the 350 people being
sacked will receive adequate redundancy packages.

But today's action shocked the workers the company had deemed its worst performers.

CHARLES ALLAN, SACKED WORKER: 18 years, doing the same thing, up at 5.30, used to come here every
morning, not get paid for it overtime and do the right thing, you know what I'm saying?

But they don't look at that.
