Transcript

TICKY FULLERTON, PRESENTER: Back to Australia now and police have identified the body of a dead
passenger found in the burnt-out wreckage of a truck crash in central Queensland as a New South
Wales woman.

Clean-up crews discovered her body yesterday, almost 24 hours after an army vehicle and civilian
B-double truck collided on the Bruce Highway near Rockhampton.

Police say that the Victorian truck driver knew the woman.

INSPECTOR MARCUS HILL, QUEENSLAND POLICE: We believe it's a female, early 40s, from New South
Wales. As I said we're talking with next of kin and it's very sensitive obviously at this stage, so
we need to be careful how those enquiries are conducted.

TICKY FULLERTON: The driver's wife has flown up to visit him in hospital where he remains in
intensive care.

Two soldiers are recovering from broken bones.
