Voters in Germany have re-elected Chancellor Angela Merkel for a second term, at the same time
handing the conservatives a significant victory.

Voters in Germany have re-elected Chancellor Angela Merkel for a second term at the same time
handing the Conservatives a significant victory. The Chancellor will be able to govern without the
support of the Social Democrats ending an uncomfortable 4-year partnership between the left and
right. TRANSLATION: We have achieved something great, we have managed to achieve our election aim
of a stable majority in Germany for a new Government. Chancellor Angela Merkel will invite the
probusiness Free Democratic Liberal Party to form a new centre-right Coalition, the election saw
support for the oppositions social democrats slump to it's lowest in post war history.
